A great record and no issues with my copy (clear vinyl). Just one complaint: the PVC jacket. PVC is a big no-no as the plastic degrades by letting off gases when permeate through the paper sleeve and damaging the vinyl record. I know it takes a few years and heat is a big factor, but still.
pretty meh. about as underwhelming as most recent national pressings. a bit noisy, a bit flat, a bit compressed. not the best.
This is a really lovely pressing - dead quiet and beautiful to look at. I'm a massive fan of Alligator, Boxer, High Violet etc. but recently this is the album I've been listening to over and over again - it's a slow burn masterpiece.
Anyone else have an issue with the "paint" / coloured parts of their cover sleeve design? the ones on mine have started to come off. the tracklisting on the back now has parts removed because of this.
Sounds unreal. One of the best in my collection for sure.
Anyone else had problems with the paint splodge 'stickers' peeling off the sleeve? I just took mine off the shelf for the first time in a few months and they've started to come away. Could be a symptom of the PVC sleeve that's included with the record?
Absolutely wonderful vinyl, sounds perfect with no noticeable quality issues!
Bought new and both records are warped, little to no lead in and had a vinyl "chunk" still attached to one. Terrible quality control.
As always with The National, the music is incredible. However, I feel like this album could have used some trimming. It feels a bit bloated and uneven in comparison to the consistency of their other albums. The CD sounds great, but the compression is high. I wish they mastered their albums better.

The sound quality is fine as for me, and the whole album is just gorgeous (as for music as for the printing materials); but mine copy has a looped groove between C1 and C2. The etched image is really quite hard to recognise, but isn't it just a technology issue or a pressing on this one? Anyways, no regrets at all.
